Location
The Haus1 Rental Apartments are located at the top of Kettenbrückengasse, which is a very well-known street in Vienna in spite of its short length. This is partly due to the fact that the underground station at Naschmarkt, the world-renowned fresh food market, bears its name. It is also famous for the house opposite, the 'Schubert Sterbehaus', where the celebrated composer Franz Schubert lived until his death in 1828, and the house next door (at No. 3), where the famous conductor Erich Kleiber was born on 5th August 1890.
We are therefore fortunate to be in a well-known and very convenient location, close to the very centre of the city (just over ten minutes’ walk away) and many famous attractions.
Public transport links are excellent. We have underground stations on two different lines close by. The nearest of these is the aforementioned station at the bottom of the street, about three or four minutes' walk away. This is on the U4 (the 'green line'). Slightly further away is the station at Taubstummengasse on the U1 (the 'red line'). Both of these stations are one stop from Karlsplatz in the city centre.
In addition, there are stops on two major bus routes very close by. The 59A, which runs in and out of the city every few minutes, is within a minutes' walk of our front door. The 13A, which runs across town between Sudbahnhof and Alser Strasse, is two minutes' walk away.
There is also a taxi rank just round the corner.
